World Hunger Day 2013
Andrew will be performing live at World Hunger Day 2013 – the event is going unplugged for the first time in a series of up close and personal live music sessions dedicated to Jazz, Soul, RnB and Gospel music in the heart of London’s Soho
Other performers include Joe McElderry, Anthony Strong, Barb Jungr, Jumoké Fashola, London Community Gospel Choir, Mari Wilson, Omar, Randolph Matthews and Tammy Weis.
Talking about the concert Andrew said:
“With Jazz in the very heart and soul of my musical craft, I can’t think of a better time and place to showcase the journey of my 25 year career and what better cause than to step up myself for the end of Hunger and Poverty. I am sure all my fellow artists for this special concert season are as happy as I am to donate our collective talents in order that others have the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves. This effort is all about partnership and success can be achieved and in our lifetime. As I’ve sung so many times, ‘Get ready…get ready for the dawning…”
After The Hunger Project UK’s successes of two sell-out concerts at the Apollo Victoria and the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 and 2012 respectively, this year’s World Hunger Day events move to an equally iconic venue – PizzaExpress Jazz Club in Soho, which was redesigned in April and now features artwork celebrating its jazz roots. Since 1969, PizzaExpress Jazz Club has welcomed on its stage some of the world’s greatest musicians including Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse.
This year, World Hunger Day 2013 falls on 28th May 2013 and will be celebrated throughout the extended May Bank Holiday weekend with six exciting shows (26th and 28th May 2013 inclusive). The entire weekend will be hosted by Award-winning Broadcaster, Journalist, Singer and Actress, Jumoké Fashola.

Back in the studio
Since finishing gigging last year and taking a short break we’re delighted to say Andrew has headed straight back in the studio to work on the follow up to Addictive.
That got us thinking about the sort of album we’d love to hear Andrew make and so we thought we’d open up the question – so please tell us:
- What’s your favourite Roachford sing ever?
- How would the album you’d like Roachford to create next sound?

Apologies for this, it’s out of our direct control – we’ll look for another venue in the area for a tour date in future.
