With just under a week to go until the new tour kicks off in Germany the excitement in camp Roachford is reaching fever-pitch. So much so, that in the interest of letting off a little steam, Andrew demanded we share a little something with the blog audience. Introducing the video for the new single – a funked up version of Bill Withers’ 1972 hit Ain’t No Sunshine.
With this cover Andrew joins the prestigious ranks of Michael Jackson, Eva Cassidy and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who’ve all reinterpreted the song in the past. We hope it’s put enough sunshine in your life to tide you over until the new tour, for which booking info is, as ever, on the Gigs page.
Unfortunately the Nedwood Music Festival that Andrew was due to play has been cancelled.
The organisers sent us this message…
It is with great sadness and total devastation that we have to inform you that the unfortunate decision has been taken to cancel Nedwood Music Festival 2016.
On the afternoon on Thursday (28 July) we were informed that due to unforeseen circumstances the provider of our stage crews, lighting and sound techs, stage and production Managers and most importantly sound monitoring were unable to provide their services. Although Nedwood Music Festival has a lot of their own infrastructure and additional services could have been resourced, we are sad to say that Sound Monitoring provision to which certain qualifications are required was not one of them. Sound Monitoring is very much a crucial part of our Event Licence from Charnwood Council with very strict criteria to meet and with less than 14 days to go with no guarantees that any new Sound Monitoring provision would have been accepted it would be exceptional unfair and unprofessional to carry on knowing that there would be an exceptionally high chance that the Festival would have to be cancelled at the very last minute.
If you were planning to come, sorry we won’t see you there – do make sure you check out the gigs page to see other dates you can come to.
Unfortunately the Summer Day’s festival that Andrew was due to play at in July has been cancelled.
The organisers sent us this message…
Summer Days, the new boutique music and food festival that launched this year, has been cancelled.
This year’s event was scheduled to take place at Clitheroe Castle between 6 and 9 July with headliners Simply Red, Jools Holland and Echo & The Bunnymen.
A spokesman for Summer Days said: “After serious consideration we are heartbroken to announce that Summer Days festival 2016 will not take place. We have looked at every angle possible to keep the event live but due to a combination of factors including rising cost and newly arisen logistical obstacles we have no choice but to call Summer Days off.
“All ticket holders will of course receive a face value refund and should contact their ticket vendors directly.
“Support for Summer Days has been both incredible and humbling and makes this decision all the harder. You have our heartfelt apologies. Thank you again for all your support.”
Apologies to those are you planning to attend – do make sure you check out the gigs page to see other dates you can come to.
We hope you had a wonderful festive holiday. We certainly did! We can’t wait to get stuck in to our tour and it’s great to hear that so may of you will be joining us. So what better way to celebrate this new year and new tour by announcing the release date of our new Album: ENCORE.
The official release date will be 26th February and you can pre-order your copy on CD or from iTunes. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!
Ok – so we know we’ve only just got back from touring (thanks for all the lovely comments by the way, it was a real pleasure as always) but…as we don’t like to hang around too long (because we love it so much) we are announcing our new tour already – ENCORE.
Check out the Gigs tab for the when, where and how to book – we’ll be adding more dates as well as some gigs in Europe soon, so do keep an eye out for those too!
We can’t wait to see you there!
We’re thrilled to announce a new tour for Andrew during 2015…
He’ll be heading out on a double headline tour with long-time friends The Christians.
Andrew is very excited about this tour along with The Christians, who through their soul, gospel and heartfelt acoustic pop are promising to make this an exciting series of shows.
Find some space in your diaries for September or October to book your tickets – we can’t wait to see you there.
It’s been a packed summer touring with Mike and the Mechanics with still some dates to round off the year before group are smashing 2015 with their “The Hits Tour” – it’s looking to be a treat.
Even with a packed schedule with Mike and the Mechanics, Andrew found space to do his own work and had a great time with the Studio Live Sessions earlier this month – performing and recording to tape in Liechtenstein at Little Big Beat Studios in front of a live audience. Check out this great teaser trailer of the Studio Live Sessions:
